My friend got married this past weekend, and I made these wedding programs for her and her now husband. They were perfectly “cool” for this summer wedding and so helpful as a guest sitting in the gorgeous – but warm – sunshine. I thought I would share with you all this wedding program tutorial so you can make them yourself. You can also contact me if you would like me to create a printable design for you or assemble your wedding programs for you.
They ended up having absolutely beautiful weather for their outside ceremony, but these fans definitely came in handy as many of us were sitting in the sunshine. I highly recommend program fans for all outside ceremonies; it is a little detail that can make a big difference for a guest. Plus, the more casual wording they chose was perfect for their intimate ceremony that was filled with a lot of laughs.
It was such a wonderful wedding to witness! I am so thankful that I could be there to celebrate with my friend as well as help her out by taking the programs off her busy to-do list.
DIY Directions: I designed the layout and wording on Photoshop Elements and printed them at home on textured 65# cardstock. While I was worried I would need thicker paper, the programs held up well and did their job of cooling the guests. The program was sized at 7×8.5. The nice thing about this size was that the design fit horizontal on the paper perfectly for printing; thus, only one cut was needed with my rotary cutter to get it down to the correct size, which saved a lot of time.
I then used permanent roller adhesive – attaching the stick first to the back of one side, taking the tape around the entire back, outside border of that same side and up the stick, and then carefully laying down the other side of the program on top of the adhesive. The bride wanted rounded corners, so, once done, I took a corner rounder to all the programs.
