I love a good fresh peach! It ranks pretty high on my list of favorite fruits, which is why I was surprised when I realized I have almost no peach recipes on this blog. Just two in fact – my easy microwave Peach Preserves and my Peach Prosciutto Goat Cheese Crostinis.  So I decided The Love Nerds needs more peach goodness and whipped up this Fresh Peach Crisp!

While I love a good cobbler, I think crisps are faster and easier to make without sacrificing any of the yum factor. Plus I can’t get enough of the crumb topping! The part that takes the longest for making this recipe is simply peeling and cutting the peaches, which isn’t much at all. It’s so easy to whip together for a last minute dessert recipe or a way to use up a batch of peaches this season when they start to over ripen. Fresh Peach Crisp - Homemade Peach Crisp is not hard! I whipped up this recipe back in July for a post 4th of July get together and it was delicious served along ice cream. But there is something about a warm peach crisp that also makes me think fall! I know many of you are hanging on tight to the last strands of summer here, especially as school goes back into session, but I am definitely ready for fall.

At 7 months pregnant, I am over these 90 degree days, and we’ve had more than our usual share this summer here in Chicago. Plus, we get to meet our little guy this fall! As we get closer to our due date in October, I am not only getting increasingly ready to be done with this pregnancy but I am getting increasingly excited to meet our son. What a fun fall and holiday season it will be!

  2. Mix all ingredients for the topping in a medium bowl. If you like a lot of topping, double the batch.
  3. Lightly grease or prep with cooking spray a 9x13 casserole dish.
  4. Add peach mixture into a single layer in the dish, using a slotted spoon to leave behind any juice. Then, add your crisp topping.
  5. Bake at 350 F for 40 minutes. Then enjoy!
