We are about making moments matter here on The Love Nerds, so, of course, we love our holiday traditions and celebrating the magic of Christmas. Things are always a little brighter and cheerier during the holiday season, and I always get extra time with Bryan since things slow down for him at work. Starting on Friday, our time is going to be filled to the brim with festivities – special time with loved ones, holiday outings, gift giving, and more! One of my favorite traditions of the season is time with my nieces. Every year, we gift our nieces an excursion instead of a traditional gift. This is definitely something we plan on continuing when we have children of our own. I like spending their gift money to take them to something beautiful, fun, new or even educational instead of on clothes or toys that might end up in the corner of their room. It is special time dedicated to them, and we always have so much fun! This year we are planning on going to see Cinderella on stage and visiting the science museum. Here are a few snapshots of our celebrating last year by the big Chicago tree! Our time at home is just as important though! Home time can include a special treat, like making cookies or chocolate fondue, board games, a big brunch, getting nails done, playing with lightsabers or a holiday movie/story, too. So when I was out shopping for Christmas gifts at Walmart and stumbled upon the Hallmark Northpole Holiday items, I was super excited! It started with me picking up the Once Upon A Northpole Christmas story which includes a Find me Santa Snowflake ornament. The ornament has a space to write a name on them, and it glows and changes colors when you press a button. They sell the snowflake ornament separately, too, so both B and D have a special ornament waiting for them at my house that connects with the Christmas story book. Check out this video to see how pretty the lighted ornament is! Then, I got a little carried away because their items were just so cute! I picked us up a cute snowflake plate with knife, small bowls, and a couple cute mugs that say “Filled with Cheer.” Isn’t that mug just calling for Hot Chocolate?! They are a cute way to celebrate our holiday season, but they would also make awesome hostess and office gifts. Fill the mug with goodies, aka “cheer”, for a really easy gift idea! Ours will stay with us though and bring some festive spirit to our movie goodies as we bundle up and watch the Northpole movie. Remember when I said I got carried away? I thought it was time for a new holiday movie and I know my younger niece is going to get excited about seeing her ornament in the movie, too! Every little bit of magic is important! You can see the movie trailer here! It looks really cute! Make sure to check out these special Northpole by Hallmark items and more! You kind can find them online and the special book and ornament gift pack will be sold exclusively at Walmart. I found everything in the card section of the store!
How do you keep the Christmas Magic alive? What Christmas traditions are your favorite?
