Hey everyone, I’m Vanessa from Our Thrifty Ideas, a blog about making the most out of family life. I am so excited to be here for birthday month and especially sharing our all time favorite party. Now, what you don’t know about the Barker family is that we are HUGE fans of parties. We pretty much find any and all reasons to throw a party, but especially for the kids. There’s just nothing like seeing the excitement on a kids face when they see the decorations and their favorite characters plastered all over the place!
Now without further ado…our favorite all time party – FROZEN!!
I threw this party just after the movie came out, and both of my kids still talk about it. I have a feeling it’s gonna be one that stays in the memory bank for quite a while.
I got my daughter some new FROZEN characters and decorated the table with them. It was a fun surprise for her and also a great way to decorate throughout. The food was extremely festive, and it made me laugh how many of the kids went straight for the carrots instead of the marshmallows or jello. That Olaf sure has made carrots popular!
I created a free printable pack with fun cupcake toppers that say “some people are worth melting for -Olaf”, but my daughter didn’t want cupcakes; she wanted donuts. So we grabbed some white powdered mini donuts, and used the cupcake toppers as a sign instead. Just hot glued it onto a paper straw and stuck it in the bowl.
We also used the cupcake topper straw signs in the blue raspberry marshmallows with were also a huge hit wight he kids to munch on.
The printable pack also had straw flags which we also used as spoon flags for the jello. It made them a little extra special while the kids were using them.
My favorite thing on the table were the water bottles. I just loved how they turned out.
At the end of the party, each of the kids got a snowman building kit to take home. They were created by putting large marshmallows, pretzels and raisins into a ziplock bag. Then top it with the “snowman kit” or “do you wanna build a snowman” bag toppers. They are both also available as free printables.
If you have a FROZEN party in your near future, make sure to head over to my blog and download the printable packs. You can find all three of them HERE

I wish I had a camera for the Frozen party we had this December for my oldest. Our daughter turned 5 this year, and is in love with Frozen which we took her to for her 4th birthday. Wow how time flies. I thought about buying a cake but they are just too expensive. Instead, I made a jello (or poke) cake with white cake mix, blue jello and cool whip. It was like a winter mound of snow, and when you cut into it you had some nice blue swirls from the jello. I also purchased a few Frozen figures from 5 Below and placed them on the cake. My daughter loved it.
