Home Wall Art - Gorgeous 3D Flower Shadowbox wall art made with paper flowers! | The Love NerdsHi everyone- It’s Valerie from Occasionally Crafty.  I’m thrilled to share this project with you today.  I belong to a lot of groups on Facebook.  One of my favorites is a Silhouette machine group.  People share their projects for inspiration as well as ask each other for help.

Lately, 3D Flower Shadowboxes have been huge in this group!  So I finally had the time to sit down and make my own.  If you can roll paper, you can make these!

You will need the following supplies:

  • 2-3 sheets Scrapbook paper of your choice for flowers
  • 1 sheet coordinating scrapbook paper for background
  • Hot glue gun/sticks
  • Vinyl (if desired)
  • Shadowbox frame (mine is 8×10)

Let’s get to it!

WALL ART TUTORIAL

First, cut some scrapbook paper to fit the background of your shadowbox frame.  For my frame, I used the actual backing of the frame.  The size of your flowers determines how much of your background will show.

Glue your paper to the background and let it dry.

Next, use your cutting machine or a template to cut out your flower shape.  I used the 3D Rose shape from the Silhouette shape store.  I sized it down to about 3 inches.  It really is just personal preference how many flowers you want and how big you want them.
Create your flower shape by rolling tightly from the long end of the shape.  I like to roll it tight into a bud shape, and then release it and arrange it to the size I want.  I find they look more uniform that way, though there definitely is some variation from flower to flower.  (That’s the beauty of it!)
Glue the flower together by placing a dot of hot glue on the bottom circle of the flower shape, then pressing and holding together.

Once your flower is dry, hot glue it to your backing.  Continue until you have filled your space.

Place your background back into the shadowbox and secure.

Finish up by placing a vinyl decal on the front of the glass.  I kept it simple with the word “home” in Samantha script.

You could use any color flowers for this, even alternating colors for a different look.  I’d love to see your version if you make this!
