And I’m back!!

I haven’t posted at all in the last month; it was a hard decision to take a break, but I knew I needed to concentrate on finishing the school year strong. My boss asked us the last day what we were most proud of this year; I said crossing the finish line despite my migraines. Enough on that for now though…

Here is a super fun and budget friendly Pinwheel Lunch Reception for Lauren and her husband Andrew. They got married on February 1st at a private courthouse ceremony but decided soon after they wanted to take a moment to celebrate with their family and friends. I was so honored to plan the event for them.

Lauren wanted something casual with special touches; she wanted a little bit of whimsy. Most importantly, they wanted to stay on a budget. My first idea was to plan a paper Pinwheel Wedding Lunch Reception, and Lauren loved it!

We booked the party at Francesca’s at the River in St. Charles, IL and were very pleased with their menu options and affordability. The room has a lot of dark wood paneling, so we wanted to add a gorgeous pop of color without adding too much expense. We ordered whole daisies from My Flower Buyer for the centerpieces.

I also added plenty of pinwheels around the restaurant, including the sweetheart table, the guest book table, and the gift table. The pinwheels took over my home for a few weeks, which my husband really loved (wink!). They also received a custom guest book plate that I created for them. It coordinated with their invitations and hand painted toasting flutes. Plus, the bride and groom had Mr and Mrs signs for the back of their chairs with matching pinwheels.

Lauren and Andrew make each other incredibly happy! There is a constant sense of ease when they are together – a true contentment. I am so honored that I had the opportunity to plan this special day for them.
