Yesterday was Earth Day, so I thought this would be the perfect timing to share some Upcycle Pinspiration.

Upcycle projects have seemed to take on more popularity lately, which I think is awesome. My family has laughed at me many time in the past year because my new moto has become: “let’s just spray paint it.” I want to keep figuring out ways to make what I already have better instead of looking for something new. (That doesn’t mean I don’t love to just shop sometimes; my two week old teal Target table can attest to that.)

Here are some of my own upclying projects that I have shared on the blog:

Upcycle Tea Lights with Washi Tape Tea Lights: This is my first project with Washi Tape, and I immediately fell in love. So simple yet it makes such a big impact.

hand dotted glassHand Dotted Glass Bowls: I love this technique! I have a future post that shows how to also do this for old dishes and serving ware.

Upcycle Project using Fabric to decorate old glass jars and vasesFabric Accented Glass Jars and Vases: Most of these are left over vases from my wedding. The little jar in front was from my mother’s pantry as it once housed bouillon cubes.

Now here is some Pinspiration! First, some great ways to update old kitchenware.

Upcycle a cookie sheet into a decorative trayWhile this is an old project from Martha Stewart, it still has a great wow factor. I might need to go searching in my mom’s cabinets again to see if she has an old cookie sheet.

Upcycle a Bundt Cake Pan into a WreathI think this would be perfect for kitchen decor! Take an old Bundt Cake Pan and turn it into a wreath. Found at Bowdabra Blog.

Grater turned into craft organizerFor all of us looking for ways to organize our crafts, this is a unique spin on it! Take an old grater and turn it upside down. I couldn’t find the original source or pin. If anyone knows out there, please let me know so I can add it.

Crib Chalkboard signAnother and much larger chalkboard sign! This time using the sides of an old crib from My RePurposed Life.

Old Bicycle upcycled into a planterThis is actually a photograph from Jocelyn Ball, but what a fanstastic idea. I think this would be so lovely. I really don’t like gardening – at all – but this makes me wish I had a house and yard.

Upcycling an old ladder to include as shelving unit in home decorI’m loving ladders in decor lately, especially this simple yet stylish one from A Beautiful Mess!

Use fabric to upcycle an old lamp shadeMade in a Day offers an easy tutorial for upcyclying an old lamp shade with some cute fabric.

Upcycling easter eggs into math practice for kidsSince we are not that far removed from Easter yet, I thought this idea was brilliant and still relevant. Take the leftover plastic eggs and turn them into math problems for the kids! Found over at It’s a Lovely Life.
