Ingredients

  • 1 pound butter
  • 2 3/4 cups sugar
  • 3 teaspoons vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 6 cups flour
  • 4 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Cream together the butter, sugar and vanilla.
  2. Add eggs and milk. Combine thoroughly.
  3. Add flour, baking powder and salt. I recommend starting with only half the flour at a time.

While not required, sift together your flour, baking powder and salt into a bowl before adding to dough. It makes the cookies even softer!

  4. Divide as desired (in half or in quarters) and refrigerate 1 hour.
  5. Roll out on a floured surface and use cookie cutters to make desired shapes. Then place on your cookie sheet.

  6. Top with a sprinkle of sugar and bake 6-10 minutes at 375 F.
