I started The Love Nerds a couple of months ago when I was on medical leave. It is a way for my to share the projects I do at home – the crafts I love. It is also my first step toward starting an Etsy shop and an event planning business. Working on creative projects like weddings, showers, invitations and cards, or the projects I have shared with you bring me a true sense of satisfaction that many people don’t necessarily understand. But I am happy when crafting.
I am currently back at work for the next 6 weeks so I will be a tad quiet. I will be at it again though in the summer and cannot wait. I love being a part of the online crafting world.
I have also found out that I won’t be going back to teaching in the fall. For one, my school cut my .8 part time position. However, it was something I had already begun thinking about. My migraines this year (why I went on medical leave) seems to be closely tied to aspects of my current job: stress, florescent lighting, an hour commute in Chicago traffic, stress. I value my health and personal life more than my teaching career. So there are many new adventures and decisions ahead, most of which I will chronicle on this blog.
And all would be impossible without my husband who is incredibly supportive. He encourages me to pursue my dreams and a job that will allow me to be healthy and energizes. I am so lucky to have him and so many wonderful friends and family. Love is truly all I need.
