It’s the end of the year, and I am feeling a little reflective! So I decided I wanted to share with all of you my thoughts on the year and 2013 Most Popular Posts!
I am not a Dicken’s fan, but A Tale of Two Cities keeps coming to mind: “It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness… it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair.” 2013 is going down in my imaginary record book as bittersweet.
The season of Darkness: massive migraines that forced me to spend most of the winter and spring in bed; leaving my teaching career because of my health; struggling with budgets and expenses because I left said job; and, my father’s heart attack along with other family members being hospitalized. The season of Light: celebrating my first year anniversary with my husband; getting to live a whole year in the same place; becoming healthier the second half of the year; my family and friends being healthy despite hospitalizations and health scares; and, starting this new adventure with all of you!
The Love Nerds is truly the biggest surprise and joy of 2013. I am so excited to have all of you here with me, especially when you share your ideas, comments, and experiences. Getting to know all of you is so much fun! I wanted to celebrate how far this blog has come in 10 or so months by sharing some of 2013 most popular posts, not counting recipes (those will come later). They are shared in no particular order and have been made popular in very different ways. Some, like Meet Migraine Maggie, received a lot of comments and personal responses, while my Santa Wreath was pinned almost 3,000 times from the blog alone. Again, thank you so much for being here with me!
