Not only am I sharing Delicious Devil’s Food Cake Mix Waffles today, but also the fun of baking with family and kids!
Things haven’t been the easiest around here lately, and I’m the kind of person that finds solace in the kitchen when life gets hard. I have countless of happy moments spent in the kitchen, from making cookies with my mom and figuring out how to make Butterbeer with my sister to baking with the kids I used to babysit for and making dinner alongside my best friend. The kitchen is one of the best places to make special memories and to make delicious Devil’s Food Cake Mix Waffles.
So when my nieces came to stay with me for a couple days on spring break, I knew some time baking was in order. Plus they love the chance to experiment and to have an impact on the blog. If you can to see, you can check out the Funfetti Cookies B helped me make last month for Bryan’s birthday.
They spent some time one afternoon whipping up a batch of Pillsbury Funfetti Cupcakes with Hot Pink Vanilla icing. The girls took turns doing all the measuring, the breaking of the eggs and the stirring. I helped them fill up the baking cups in order to limit the mess all over the pan – though of course that didn’t prevent further mess later with sprinkles and icing everywhere – and put them in the oven!
What I loved most about the whole experience was watching them decorate the cupcakes. D really wanted to try piping icing on for the first time, and it was really fun to watch her experiment and learn a new technique. She already wants to bake again soon so she can try out different icing tips. B on the other hand, who is much younger, worked on using the “funky icing knife” again to spread her icing on top. That and a few sprinkles was just enough for her level!
Since I always stock up on Pillsbury Cake Mixes when I am in Walmart and happened to have a box of Devil’s Food Cake in my pantry, I decided to spend a morning this weekend baking for myself. I love to bake with my family and do so often, but I had the house to myself on a rare morning so I put on some music and whipped up a special breakfast for myself – Devil’s Food Cake Mix Waffles.
I am going to be making so many cake mixes into waffles now because these Devil’s Food Cake Mix Waffles were so easy and so delicious. You literally follow the directions on the back of the box and instead of putting in a cake pan to bake, you put it in your waffle maker! YUM! Of course I couldn’t eat 4 waffles by myself but it was nice to mix up my morning routine and have a baking experiment of my own.
I will even have a new recipe to share with you all soon using a different Pillsbury product I love, so make sure you come back in a couple of weeks to see. So in the meantime, make sure you head to Walmart to stock up on your own Pillsbury Cake Mixes so you can start making cookies, decorating cupcakes, and whipping up waffles! You can check out more ways to cook with Pillsbury on Pinterest. Plus, I even have a way for you to SAVE MONEY while doing so!
