The Love Nerds would love to feature your unique and stylish weddings, birthday parties, baby showers, styled shoots or any DIY party projects. In addition, we would be honored to feature your fabulous tutorials, room or furniture makeovers, printables and recipes.
At The Love Nerds, we believe in making moments matter which will be a driving force in deciding which features are published. We want features that will inspire our readers and help them make their family or friends feel special.
We are looking for submissions with stunning photography and detailed shots. This is the most important element of being selected for a feature! I have provided more details below. If you still have any questions, please contact me at [email protected].
SUBMIT A WEDDING OR PARTY
Please follow the guidelines below when submitting parties or other projects. Send to: submissions{at}thelovenerds.com with a subject heading that has your name and the party you are submitting.
- PHOTO SUBMISSION – Submit at least 10-20 INDIVIDUAL PHOTOS via a shared Drop Box folder. No collages are accepted.
- SIZE – Horizontal photos should be at least 700px wide. Verticals should be 1000px tall.
- CONTENT – While photos of people or a happy couple are great to include, the majority of photos should be of the party details and décor.
- QUALITY PHOTOS – It does not have to be professional, but photography is important {in focus, good lighting, good composition, detail shots, etc}.
- WATERMARKS – We will give you full credit for your work with links, but we realize the need for watermarks in the day of Pinterest. Feel free to place a small, discreet watermark on photos if you like. We only ask that they do not cover up the details our viewers love to see.
- CREATIVE & UNIQUE – What makes your party unique? Is it budget conscious or have you developed a unique spin on a theme? What interesting details stand out? We love original concepts!
- DESCRIPTION – Please write a description of the important details of the wedding/party. Here are some questions to consider answering, though you do not need to address all of them.
- Location of event, number of guests and date of event
- 7 words or less describing your event – For example, I might describe my wedding as Classic Wedding with Personalized and Nerdy Touches
- What were your favorite elements from the event?
- What were any DIY projects that you or a loved one completed for the event? Please submit a photo of the project(s) if possible.
- VENDOR CREDIT – Please include names and websites for all vendors, including photographers, event planners, bakeries, etc. These must be included in order for your party to be featured.
- EXCLUSIVITY – The Love Nerds prefers roughly a 30 DAY window on both sides of a feature where your work is not featured on another submission site {This does not include your own blog or social media.} This is important because it both provides a fresh feature for your work while also maintaining The Love Nerds as a strong feature publication. When submitting, please let me know where and when the event has been featured elsewhere. Exclusive submissions are always happily accepted!

- DESCRIPTION – When submitting a tutorial, craft or recipe, readers can be directed to your blog for the complete directions or recipe. Just include the original link. However, it is important that you write a unique piece to submit with the feature of at least 200 words. Here are some questions to consider answering, though you do not need to address all of them.

- Why did you make it?
- Could it be used to jazz up a family date night or for a birthday party?
