Alright, let’s be real for a minute. I suffer from a severe condition when I don’t eat often enough. I get irritable, short tempered, and a bit exhausted. I have been known to say things I may not normally say on a full stomach. I have been known to get a little too emotional. In this house, we call it being HANGRY!
You may laugh now, but if you have ever been confronted with someone that is hangry, you know it is no laughing matter. It can come on suddenly and fiercely, so having something good to eat on hand is essential. SNICKERS® can help with that!
I see HANGRY happen all the time, especially during long days of family, friends and fun. Think about it? Everyone is having a great time, laughing and playing, when all of a sudden things get a little bit quieter. The kids often start fussing with each other and adults usually start zoning out on their phone. This lull is the start of being hangry. People need a pick me up, and there is none better than this Extreme SNICKERS Caramel Cheesecake Dip!
No one wants to miss the party by slaving away in the kitchen, which makes this dessert dip even better. It doesn’t take long in the kitchen to whip this up (quickly chopping up SNICKERS and a little time with the hand mixer) is all. Plus, it can be made ahead of time. Make it the day before and pull it out when you sense that lull with your guests.
- 2 8 oz cream cheese chilled
- 12 oz caramel topping chilled
- ½ c sour cream
- ¼ c powdered sugar
- 3 Xtreme SNICKERS® Bars or SNICKERS® bars of your choice, chopped into small pieces
- Place cream cheese in a mixing bowl and whip cream cheese until fluffy with a hand mixer. Should take about 1 minute.
- Stir in sour cream, powder sugar and caramel topping.
- Stir in chopped SNICKERS®.
- Serve with apple slices or other dippers of your choice.
My suggestion is to serve it up with green apples. The slight tart of the green apple pairs perfectly with the chocolatey, caramel goodness of the dip! To keep my apples from browning, I normally place my slices in a bowl of cold lemon water to soak immediately after cutting.
In deciding which SNICKERS bar to use for the dessert, I really went back and forth. The XTREME offers all caramel and nuts on the inside so I thought it was perfect for a caramel cheesecake dip. Plus, I really wanted to just eat the SNICKERS Almond because I LOVE almonds. It was really good! 🙂
