Light and Refreshing Lemon and Herb Goat Cheese Log!
So I’ve been sitting here staring at the computer screen for a little while, trying to come up with some great story to tell about this recipe. See, part of being a lifestyle blogger or food blogger is painting pictures for you all as well as providing you with a great recipe, fun DIY, etc. Letting you see into my life and connecting dots for you. But sometimes, we also suffer a case of the post 3 day weekend blues and can’t come up with anything especially witty to say about this Lemon and Herb Goat Cheese Log. I will say this though – I love goat cheese! It is probably my favorite cheese to snack on, prepare pasta dishes with, and definitely serve up as an appetizer. First because there is so much variety.
Second because it pairs well with so many different flavors, from lemon and herb to berries to honey and even chocolate. Therefore, I plan on sharing a simple goat cheese appetizer recipe once a month to the end of the year, starting with this Lemon and Herb Goat Cheese Log.
The combination of this Lemon and Herb Goat Cheese Log is light and refreshing. The little bit of lemon juice and zest provide a citrus flavor that I personally love. Plus, who doesn’t love garlic and how it adds a subtle kick to the herbs. In my opinion, the best thing is probably how this recipe is appropriate all year long. Whether you are enjoying this outside with the last bit of summer or serving it up for Thanksgiving, your guests are going to love every bite!
- 4 " Goat Cheese Log
- 1/2 c of fresh herbs well chopped - parsley, chives and basil
- juice of half a lemon
- 1 tsp of lemon zest
- 1 tsp of minced garlic
- pepper to taste
-
Mix together the chopped herbs, lemon juice, lemon zest, garlic and pepper.
-
Use the mix to coat the goat cheese log. You can put mix on a plate and use a combination of rolling the log in the mix and patting the mix onto the log. You can also do a loose covering and wrap the roll in cling wrap and gently roll the log to make everything stick well.
-
Then serve on a plate with bread or crackers and enjoy!

Where would I find a goat cheese log?
Maggie says
I can usually find goat cheese logs in the cheese section that is by the deli in my everyday grocery store.
