SWEET AND SPICY CHICKEN SRIRACHA CHICKEN WINGS!

It’s been a few years now since I first shared three chicken wing recipes which included this Honey Sriracha chicken wing sauce.

The post has continually been popular over the years, but I decided it was time to develop more recipes for all of you as well as my family!

Grilled chicken wings has become a summer staple for us, especially on the 4th of July! We buy a big bag of wings, grill them up, and toss them in a few different wing sauces.

This honey sriracha is definitely the favorite for both my husband and brother-in-law.

Sriracha sauce is a hot sauce made from a paste of chili peppers, vinegar, garlic, sugar and salt. It is, for sure, a hot sauce so the wings have a kick.

The honey added to the sauce helps moderate the heat of the sriracha sauce to something delicious and enjoyable!

HOW TO MAKE HONEY SRIRACHA CHICKEN WING SAUCE?

Besides how tasty this sauce recipe it is, it is really one of my go-to wing sauce recipes because it quickly comes together.

It requires two main ingredients – honey and sriracha sauce – with a little lime juice, olive oil, garlic powder, and onion powder tossed into the mix as well.

You will add all the ingredients into the bowl and stir! That’s it. Your honey sriracha sauce is ready to be tossed with cooked chicken wings.

HOW TO COOK YOUR HONEY SRIRACHA CHICKEN WINGS?

The best thing about chicken wings is they can be cooked in so many ways! It is also what makes them perfect to be enjoyed all year long: on the grill in the summer or in the oven in the winter.

Or, if you are making these for game day, you can cook them up in the slow cooker for really tender wings. Or, you can cook them in the air fryer for really crispy wings. So many options!

I cooked these wings on the grill over medium heat on a well oiled grate for about 20 minutes. My goal is to not over turn any meat on the grill because meat that has gotten a nice char don’t stick on the grate as much.

Cook with the lid closed and check at least every 5 minutes. Move pieces that are cooking too fast to a less hot spot on the grill. Remove chicken wings from the grill when they have reached 165 F internally.

You can head over to my post on HOW TO COOK CHICKEN WINGS for all the details on cooking them any way you choose! I share all my tips and tricks over there.

IS THE SAUCE TOO SPICY?

Everyone has a different tolerance level for spiciness. The balance of honey and Sriracha sauce in this chicken wing sauce is perfect for me – lip tingling but enjoyable.

However, if you find the sauce too spicy, you can adjust the balance by increasing the amount of honey in the sauce. It will add a little more sweet to the sweet and spicy!

HELPFUL ITEMS OF MAKING WINGS:

Meat Thermometer – This is ESSENTIAL for cooking meat safely and deliciously! Chicken wings need to be 165 degrees F internally for safe consumption.

BBQ Grill Tools Set – If grilling, you definitely want a full set of utensils safe for the grill! My favorite tool for using with chicken wings is the tongs.

Grill Cooking Spray – Use this or oil up your grate before lighting so your chicken wings don’t stick! I make sure my grill is well coated before cooking any sort of meat.
