We are getting excited for the new Maleficent movie out in a couple weeks, so of course we needed to update the shop with new Maleficent svg files! Included are designs for both the original Mistress of Evil in Sleeping Beauty and the new Fairy Godmother version of the Maleficent movies!
MALEFICENT SVG FILES FOR THE MISTRESS OF ALL EVIL!
I have long been a fan of the retelling of “villain” stories for a new, usually complicated and forgiving, perspective. So, of course, I’m a huge fan of our Mistress of Evil and needed to make Maleficent svg files.
It started with reading the True Story of the Big Bad Wolf as a kid. Have you read it?! I actually just added it to my Amazon cart to read to Liam and Parker.
Then there came Wicked, which is one of my favorite books and definitely my favorite Broadway production!
So when they released Maleficent 5 years ago now, I knew I wanted to see it. Sleeping Beauty is my sister’s favorite Disney film, which means we watched it a lot over the years.
I loved seeing their unique take on Maleficent and her true love for Aurora! Who doesn’t love the fact that Aurora actually calls the Mistress of Evil her fairy godmother?!
Now, I am all for these Maleficent SVG files all year long! Wearing a shirt that says Stand Back You Fools is a win for me every day and I’m seriously loving the rose design!
However, some of them are especially perfect for Halloween shirts and crafts! Shirts are definitely my favorite craft project to make with my Silhoutte and Cricut.
I mean, who doesn’t want to wear some classic Disney villain during the Halloween season?!

You can use these files for all personal projects and while most used for making DIY Disney shirts, they can be used for lots of projects!
WHAT YOU NEED TO MAKE DIY MALEFICENT SHIRTS:
- Maleficent SVG Files
- Silhoutte, Cricut or other electronic cutting machine
- Heat Transfer Vinyl for shirts – Black, White or Starter Pack
- Favorite Shirt
- Iron or Heat Press
If you are looking do complete other projects, like mugs or glassware, use regular vinyl for glassware, mugs, frames, or ornaments – Vinyl Color Pack.
TIPS FOR MAKING YOUR OWN HTV SHIRTS:
It’s important to follow the instructions on the heat transfer vinyl you purchase, but here are some tips that have helped me!
Tip #1 – Make sure that you flip your design horizontally so it is mirrored before you cut out the design. If you don’t do this, you won’t be able to read your design!
Tip #2 – Heat the fabric with your iron or heating press before you adhere the design. It helps the vinyl adhere more strongly.
Tip #3 – Firmly press down your iron or heating press for at least 20 second intervals before moving to another portion of the design. I find pressing firmly is better than moving the iron in strokes over the design.
