FLAVORFUL THANKSGIVING PUNCH!

Last year, I shared a White Christmas Sangria and a Red Christmas Sangria that took off, so I knew I wanted to focus this year on creating simple but flavorful party drinks for other holidays, too!

So here is our super easy Thanksgiving Punch!

I knew I wanted to have apple cider and cranberry juice as the base for this party punch. It’s sweet and spicy balanced with a little bit of tart, which makes a balanced punch in my opinion.

You don’t want to be drinking anything too sweet for Thanksgiving parties. That’s what apple pie is for!

Then, I added in Fireball Whiskey. It is one of my favorite liquors to add into recipes because it brings in a ton of surprise flavor.

Plus, with the popularity of my Girl on Fireball cocktail – which is the perfect single serving fall drink – I knew I needed more Fireball drinks on the site.

So back to the punch – after the whisky, I bring in triple sec for a little orange flavor. Orange is a great addition to fall and winter cocktails! If you don’t have triple sec, I have some substitution suggestions below!

Lastly, ginger beer! I love ginger beer! It is spicy and robust in flavor. However, if you don’t have any on hand, ginger ale is a possible substitution.

Now, let’s get to making this delicious Thanksgiving Punch that I will basically be making all fall long!

HOW TO MAKE THIS EASY THANKSGIVING PUNCH

As all my favorite punch recipes are, this is a dump and stir recipe. You will simply add all your ingredients into a large pitcher or punch bowl and stir.

I love garnishing this fall punch with apple slices, fresh cranberries and cinnamon sticks.

Want to play up the flavor of the orange in Triple Sec? Add in orange slices, as well.

CAN I SERVE THIS IMMEDIATELY?

Yes! If doing so, I suggest chilling all the ingredients before hand if possible and then serving over ice or adding ice to the pitcher.

When possible, I prefer serving OVER ice and just having an ice bucket on the beverage table so I can avoid watering down the punch.

CAN I PREP THIS PUNCH AHEAD OF TIME?

Absolutely! In fact, making the night or morning before will result in bigger, bolder flavor as the ingredients have time to mix together more.

If making ahead of time, though, leave out the ginger beer until you are ready to serve. It’s carbonated so you will want to save the bubbles.

WHAT SUBSTITUTIONS CAN I MAKE FOR THIS THANKSGIVING PUNCH?

  • SUBSTITUTE TRIPLE SEC: If you don’t have triple sec in your bar, you could also substitute with Cointreau or Grand Marnier. These can sometimes effect the sweetness of the punch so make sure to taste test.
  • SUBSTITUTE GINGER BEER: If you don’t have ginger beer on hand or just aren’t a fan for some reason, you could switch it out for ginger ale or lemon-lime soda. Both of these will change the flavor of the drink slightly.

HOW CAN I REDUCE THE SUGAR IN THIS PUNCH?

There are a few simple things you could do to reduce the sugar if needed or wanted.

The main way is to purchase diet ginger beer, diet cranberry juice, etc. Limiting the sugar in your core ingredients will make a big difference. I only ever buy diet ginger beer.

You can also try to reduce the sugar in the apple cider. I’ve never seen one reduced sugar, but you could use homemade apple cider recipe with lower sugar or Alpine sugar free apple cider powder.

HELPFUL ITEMS FOR MAKING THIS THANKSGIVING DRINK:

LARGE PITCHER – You want to make sure you have a roomy pitcher like this one at 80 ounces because the fruit will add a lot volume to your cocktail.

PUNCH BOWL – Looking to make a larger batch of this Halloween sangria? Use a punch bowl! It will be so much easier for serving at a party and you can make it all at one time instead of refilling during the party.

COCKTAIL STIRRER – I have one of these as part of my normal cocktail set that I love and will post below for you. Keeping this on hand makes it super easy to stir without making a mess.

3 PIECE BAR SET: If you are going to make simple cocktails, this is my favorite bar set. It has a jigger, a muddler, and a trident cocktail stirrer. This last one means it has a mini “spoon” shape on one end like a traditional stirrer and a forked shape on the other.
